Head of Financial Control & Tax – Lindt
Head of Financial Control & Tax • Stockholm
Are you an experienced Big Four professional ready to take the next step into a broader finance leadership role?
Lindt & Sprüngli is looking for a Head of Financial Control & Tax to lead financial governance, technical accounting, tax and internal controls across the Nordic region.
We are looking for someone with a strong technical foundation in accounting, IFRS and internal controls, combined with solid experience and understanding of tax matters. You will act as the technical backbone of the Nordic Finance organization while leading and developing the Financial Control & Accounting team.
Reporting directly to the Nordic CFO, you will serve as the primary technical advisor for accounting and internal control matters and take ownership of the Nordic tax agenda in collaboration with Group Finance, Group Tax and external advisors.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Big Four professional who wants to move closer to the business, take broader ownership and combine technical expertise with leadership and business impact.
About the role
As Head of Financial Control & Tax, you will be responsible for safeguarding the quality and integrity of financial reporting, statutory compliance, tax governance and internal controls across Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland.
You will work closely with Nordic Finance, senior management, Group Finance, Group Tax and external auditors. The role combines technical expertise with operational ownership, leadership and continuous improvement.
You will be part of the Nordic Finance team of 13 people and be based at our Nordic head office in Solna, with a hybrid working model of 60% office and 40% remote.
Key responsibilities:
Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting
· Act as the primary technical accounting expert for the Nordic organization
· Ensure compliance with IFRS, local GAAP and Group reporting requirements
· Own statutory reporting and year-end processes across the Nordic entities
· Drive accounting quality and consistency across the region
· Analyse complex accounting matters and provide clear recommendations and guidance to the CFO, Finance team and business
· Ensure high-quality balance sheet governance and reconciliations
· Work closely with Group Finance and external auditors on accounting and reporting matters
Governance, Risk & Internal Controls
· Own and continuously improve the Nordic internal control framework
· Ensure that controls are appropriately designed, executed and documented in line with Group requirements
· Identify financial and operational control risks and drive appropriate remediation
· Support Finance leadership in strengthening processes, governance and accountability
· Act as a key stakeholder during internal and external audits
· Drive continuous improvements across Finance processes and ways of working
· Tax Governance & Compliance
· Own and coordinate the Nordic tax agenda, including corporate income tax, VAT, deferred tax and tax compliance
· Ensure robust tax provisions, reporting processes and controls
· Oversee transfer pricing processes and documentation in collaboration with external advisors & Group Tax
· Identify and assess tax risks arising from business activities and transactions
· Collaborate with Group Tax and external advisors on complex international tax matters
· Act as the key local contact towards tax authorities and external tax advisors
· Monitor relevant tax developments and assess their potential impact on the Nordic business
You do not need to be a tax specialist. What matters is that you have a solid understanding of tax matters, can identify and assess risks, ask the right questions and confidently work with Group Tax and external specialists when deeper expertise is required.
Treasury & Working Capital
· Govern banking mandates and payment approval structures
· Ensure appropriate treasury controls and cash-flow forecasting
· Support working capital management and credit risk governance
· Safeguard balance sheet integrity across relevant processes
Leadership & Development
· Lead and develop the Financial Control & Accounting team
· Raise the technical competence of the Finance organization
· Coach and support colleagues in complex accounting, control and tax matters
· Set clear expectations for quality, ownership and delivery
· Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and collaboration

What will make you successful?
You don’t need to have every answer yourself. But you need the technical foundation and judgement to know which questions to ask, where the risks are and when specialist support is needed.
We believe you are:
· Technically strong and curious
· Comfortable analysing complex issues and forming your own view
· A trusted advisor who can translate technical matters into practical business implications
· Comfortable challenging assumptions and recommendations when needed
· Structured and analytical, while remaining pragmatic and commercially minded
· Decisive and willing to take ownership
· Collaborative, but comfortable setting clear expectations and holding others accountable
· Motivated by developing both processes and people
· Most importantly, you should be someone the CFO and Finance organization can rely on when accounting, control or tax matters become complex.
Why Lindt?
At Lindt, you will combine an international environment with strong local influence. You will be part of a value-driven company built on passion, quality and sustainable growth, where you are given both responsibility and freedom to make an impact.
